My Flag
By Joe Harrison
I am about as much of an American patriot as a person can
be. I literally get tears of pride in my eyes when I write about the citizen
soldiers of Baltimore, fighting the
British infantry all night, as Fort McHenry
was bombed without mercy on that fateful night back in 1814.
I still remember getting choked up to the point of not being
able to speak when I watched the American flag being raised at the gold medal
ceremonies at the Olympic games in 1980 when the unlikely American hockey team
defeated the world.
I have always been proud of our flag and everything it
represented. Unfortunately I have become ashamed of the government that now
hides behind it. I have become ashamed of the generation of shame that now
calls themselves progressive Americans when in truth, they are nothing more
than socialist.
From this point forward, the flag that I will now follow,
the one that will fly in front of my house will be the flag of the confederacy.
No, it is not a sign of racism or support of slavery; it is
a sign of protest to what is currently going on in this country. As soon as the
country is given back to the people, I will remove the confederate flag and
replace it with an American one.
During the American Revolution, my ancestors were referred
to as Rebels. During the American civil war, my ancestors were once again
referred to as Rebels. Go ahead, call me a Rebel if you will, I will actually
take pride in that title.
This is more than a southern gesture; it is a gesture for
all of us who are in protest of the actions of the current Administration.
Join me if you have the will and the guts.

When Clinton was pres we flew the flag upside down. Now we fly the red stripped 'Don't tread on me' flag. The big obama supporter up the street flies the 'stars and stripes'. It fits his old way of thinking!!!
